FCE GUIDELINES
The iFit FCE assesses an individual's functional abilities and limitations with respect to a specific job or to generic job duties, depending on needs.

GENERAL FCE
Standardized test and measures are applied to all individuals being assessed. It is commonly used when a targeted job or functional job requirements have not yet been determined.

JOB SPECIFIC FCE
Specific testing measuring an individuals ability to perform the physical demands of a specific, identified job. The evaluation could be completed in a clinic setting or at the work-site.

1 OR 2 DAY FCE
Testing can be completed in 1 or 2 day increments. Two day FCEs help measure whether limitations increase when performing certain work functions on a more sustained basis.

DOCUMENTATION
iFit provides clean, easy-to-read FCE reports with a 48 hour turnaround time. Reports include randomized control trial (RCT) citations and are legally defensible.

BENEFITS OF A FCE
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FEC) is a standardized evaluation consisting of numerous tests designed to objectively measure a person's physical capabilities and ability to return to the workplace.

-
If the employee is unable to return to work, an FCE assists in developing a prognosis and determining if occupational rehabilitation measures may be beneficial.

-
If an employee can go back to work, the FCE assists in identifying any changes needed to the employee's workload, and any modifications to the environment.

FCE's are needed to determine if an employee is able to resume working in a capacity "commensurate with his or her skills or abilities" before the disability or medical condition was diagnosed.
